101-DS
Avid DS Editing and Basic Effects:
This three-day course introduces
students to the Avid DS workflow processes. Students will
familiarize themselves with Avid DS editing, audio, and
media management techniques. They will also get an
introduction to effects and animation. Topics also include:
capturing media, storyboarding, editing a scene with
dialogue, multicamera editing, transitions, DVE, color
correction, titling, customizing the interface, audio
effects, mixing audio, and conforming.
Prerequisites:
None.
201-DS Avid
Graphics and Effects:
This two-day course
introduces the students to more advanced Graphics, Effects,
and animation techniques. Topics include: effects and
animation, using the effects tree, scratch removal, Warp
Effect, timewarping, mix and match, luma keyer, Blue/Green
Keyer, and advanced titling.
Prerequisites: completion of DS-101.
301-DS - Avid DS
Compositing and Effects:
This three-day course
explores the compositing and 3D tools used in Avid DS
system. Students will become familiar with the compositing
and the 3D DVE layouts and workflow. Specific features of
the Graphics layout are also covered. Topics include:
Blue-Green keying, using multiple mattes, Photoshop import,
travelling mattes, morphing, stabilizing, tracking, offset
tracking, and 3D DVE compositing.
Prerequisites: completion of DS-101 and DS-201.
